PRP Injection
Pattaya Thailand

PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma, and this treatment is an injection therapy that utilizes your body’s own healing capabilities. PRP is extracted from your own blood and then re-injected into specific areas of the body. Since PRP is made from your own blood, there is no risk of infection or rejection after treatment. PRP injections can stimulate natural tissue regeneration, improve skin quality, promote hair growth, and aid in the healing of injuries.

PRP concentrates the natural growth factors found in your body’s own blood platelets and can accelerate the repair of damaged tissues such as skin collagen, knee cartilage, hair follicles, and even blood vessels and muscles in the penis. The versatility of PRP injections allows for a wide range of applications, from cosmetic enhancements like wrinkle reduction and skin rejuvenation to therapeutic uses such as alleviating joint pain and aiding in the recovery of sports injuries.

WHAT CAN PRP DO?

N

Regenerate Damaged Tissue

PRP contains growth factors that stimulate collagen production and regenerate damaged tissue. PRP rebuilds the tissue more healthily by making it thicker and increasing its strength. Platelet-rich plasma also attracts resident stem cells to the treatment area to help regenerate damaged tissue on a cellular level. Interestingly, PRP was first used in the 1980s for heart surgery to aid in rebuilding muscle tissue from injury.

N

Rejuvenate Hair Growth

Hair loss occurs from damaged hair follicles and a loss of blood flow to the scalp, which normally enriches hair follicles. PRP is a superior treatment for this problem because the platelet-rich plasma can generate new blood vessels and attract stem cells in the scalp. Rejuvenating hair growth with PRP requires multiple treatments for the best results and can be used as a supplementary treatment after hair transplant surgery.

N

Improve Erectile Dysfunction

The growth factors and proteins in PRP enhance tissue regeneration and repair, which can improve blood flow and nerve sensitivity in the penis. The PRP method of treating erectile dysfunction, often referred to as the P-Shot, is a natural alternative that leverages the body’s own healing capabilities and has fewer side effects compared to traditional pharmaceuticals like Viagra (Sildenafil) and Cialis (Tadalafil).

N

Enhance Skin Tone & Texture

Healthy skin shines with a natural aura and glow. PRP brings life back to your skin by using your body’s own blood. A healthy skin tone comes from the proper balance of a pigment called melanin, and a healthy skin texture comes from an abundance of collagen. PRP keeps melanin production in proper balance, giving the skin that aura and glow, while also firming the skin with collagen growth.

HOW IS PRP MADE?

PRP-Injection-Pattaya-Thailand

Autologous Blood Extraction

A sample of blood is drawn from the patient’s arm. ‘Autologous’ means the blood comes from the same patient being treated. The amount of blood extracted may range from 30cc to 60cc, depending on the treatment’s injection applications.

PRP-Injection-Clinic-Pattaya-Thailand

Whole Blood Centrifugation

The blood sample is placed into a test tube or a special kit and then centrifuged, or spun. The centrifugation machine spins the blood rapidly, typically for about 12 to 15 minutes. This process leads to the separation of red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma.

Platelet Rich Plasma Isolation

The middle layer of the final blood separation is where PRP is found. This layer contains a dense concentration of platelets, growth factors, and white blood cells. The top and bottom layers of separation are discarded, while the PRP in the middle layer is drawn into a syringe, prepared for injection.

PRP-Injection-Stem-Cells-Pattaya

PRP Activates Stem Cells

PRP signals the body to send assistance, mainly by recruiting stem cells to the targeted area. Although PRP isn’t strictly stem cell therapy, it effectively activates stem cells. PRP is injected to initiate the body’s natural signaling process before stem cell infusion. After the stem cell infusion, PRP guides these stem cells to the exact treatment location, enhancing the therapy’s effectiveness.

How PRP Works

PRP is obtained by collecting a sample of blood from the patient. The blood is then processed through centrifugation; utilizing a specialized processing system that spins at a specific rate of RPM for a specific amount of time. The centrifugal force of spinning separates the red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma.

After processing, the PRP sample should provide a therapeutic dose of platelets; which is between 3-7 times the concentration of whole blood. PRP should also have a significantly reduced or an absence of red blood cells and neutrophils which are known to degrade collagen and other extracellular molecules of the skin.

When PRP is injected, new blood vessels form and fibroblasts migrate, proliferate, and begin to remodel skin tissue. Hyaluronic acid, elastin, collagen, and other components of the extracellular matrix are produced and help aid in the inflammatory process. Resident stem cells are also attracted to the area and help regenerate tissue.

Helpful FAQ’s

Is PRP treatment effective?

Yes, research indicates that PRP can be effective for chronic tendon injuries, mild to moderate knee osteoarthritis, erectile dysfunction and skin melasma. What conditions are treated with PRP?

PRP injections are used for musculoskeletal pain and injuries like tendon, ligament, muscle, and joint injuries, as well as post-surgical healing, osteoarthritis, hair loss, and facial skin rejuvenation.

What exactly is platelet-rich plasma (PRP)?

PRP consists of plasma, the liquid portion of blood, and platelets, a type of blood cell responsible for healing. Platelets are not only crucial for clotting blood but also contain growth factors important for healing injuries. PRP is essentially blood with a higher concentration of platelets than usual.

What are the risks and side effects of PRP therapy?
