How Laser Hair Removal Works
The first step in laser hair removal by Primelase is cleaning the treatment area and applying a cooling gel to prepare the skin. Once the cooling gel has been applied, laser hair removal can begin. Depending on the size of the treatment area, one session may take 20-45 minutes.
Primelase laser hair removal works by rapidly heating hair follicles down to the root. This type of laser heat does NOT burn the skin because the applicator emits a cooler temperature near the surface – 25°C. The higher temperatures are emitted from the laser further away from the applicator, down to the hair root – 80°C. The heat from the diode laser causes the melanin (pigment color) to swell and fracture the hair follicle. When the hair follicle is fractured, the hair can’t grow anymore. However, hair grows in cycles – like skin. So laser hair removal requires 3-5 sessions to treat all hair follicles during the different stages of growth cycles. Treatment by Primelase results in permanent hair removal within a short amount of time without pain.

Dr. Ann has been practicing Aesthetic Facial Design for 17 years in Thailand and has also attended numerous workshops and training seminars including Recent Advances in Aesthetic Dermatology RAAD 2022.
When she’s not operating FRESH MEDIQ, Dr. Ann can be found loving on her cats, eating all kinds of food, watching Japanese Anime, and hanging out with her best friends from Harvard Team 6!

¹ Complete our Patient Registration form that includes your basic contact details and medical history. Please document your complete medical history with surgeries you may have done in the past and all the medicines you are currently taking.
² Consult with Dr. Nuttamon Le Men MD, our laser hair removal specialist. The doctor will give you honest advice and outline a treatment plan if laser hair removal is right for you.
³ Our staff will summarize your procedure plan with pricing and appointment schedules. At this point, you can decide to make a deposit for the procedure or only pay the consultation fee* for further consideration.
*Consultation Fees are 300 THB and due after consultation with the Doctor. Consultation Fees are waived with deposit payment or full payment on procedure plans.
Step-by-Step Procedures
Clear your schedule for 45 minutes – 1 hour and relax in the treatment room. Laser hair removal can be done as fast as 30 minutes with an appointment.
CLEANSING & SHAVING
Our therapist will clean the treatment area and remove any possible contaminants. Next, we will shave the treatment area and apply cooling gel to prepare the skin for laser treatment.
LASER HAIR REMOVAL
The technician will start the laser treatment according to the procedure plan. Once the treatment is complete, the technician will clean the area again and apply aloe vera to help soothe the skin.
After Care Instructions
We want the best treatment results possible! The following instructions will help maximize your results and minimize the risk of complications:
♦ Protect your skin from direct sunlight and apply sunscreen.
♦ Do NOT shave the treatment area. You can trim the treatment areas with scissors but do NOT shave with a razor.
♦ Apply cool compresses if you feel and pain or discomfort in the treatment area such as a towel with cool water or ice.
♦ Do NOT suntan because it will increase your risk of burns.
♦ Do NOT use tanning lotions or lotions with fragrances and perfumes because these products can irritate the skin. You could possibly experience rashes, burns, and bumps from these products as well.
♦ Underarm Treatments: Do NOT apply deodorant to the underarms for 3 days because these products can cause skin irritation.
♦ Do NOT use body scrubs during the course of treatment.
Possible Side Effects
♦ Swelling, redness or discoloration may occur, but this is only temporary and should subside after 1-3 days.
♦ Mild pain is also possible but should go away after 1-3 days.
♦ Infection is rare but could possibly occur if you experience symptoms like pus and red or discolored streaks. Please contact us immediately if these signs continuously occur.
Does laser hair removal really work permanently?
Yes, laser hair removal by diode lasers like Primelase produce permanent results. But other laser technologies like IPL and Nd YAG may not be permanent.
Is it worth it laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal is worth it if you suffer from growing excessive hair in unwanted places. For example, laser hair removal is worth it to women that grow excessive facial hair and men who grow excessive back hair.
